Integrated infrastructures and mobility systems
The integration of the mobility infrastructures is transversal to the three main areas of study of the territory that the Fundación RIA contemplates: natural environment, built environment and local economies.
If the economic engines are the ports, the roads have become the vector of development for the coastal settlements in Galicia. Traditionally, the built environment developed along these paths, creating a continuum that is known as the diffuse city (Dalda, 2006). This structure consolidates with the urbanisation processes and the implementation of infrastructure systems, namely roads and ports, in the territory and becomes a continuous built landscape.
