Urban integration of Palmeira's waterfront
Design of an action plan for the urban integration of the seafront of Palmeira.
The development of Galicia's coastal towns in recent decades has gone hand in hand with the expansion of their port areas and the roads that serve them.
However, at present, it is common for a large proportion of the waterfront to be devoted to parking, which degrades the image of the complex, limits the use of public space and hinders port uses.

Strategies
This plan is based on three strategies: traffic and parking management, the recovery of the link with the sea and the planning and design of public space.
Analysis
The analysis conducted highlights the need to address parking regulation as a priority action.
In order to identify the existing alternatives, we studied the urban structure of Palmeira, with its compact nucleus, which can be covered on foot in less than 10 minutes.
At a second level of planning, a series of rules are established for the regulation of parking on the port platform, that is, on the land managed by Portos de Galicia.
Finally, a third level of parking management seeks to ensure that the 90 parking spaces provided on the waterfront have the least impact on the use of public space and the image of the waterfront.
