During the last month, the Fundación RIA and the Histagra research group of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela have jointly advanced in the development of the Laboratorio Ecosocial do Barbanza, a project funded by the Banco Santander Foundation that will identify and promote sustainable land use practices, taking the Barbanza bioregion as a case study.
In this phase of the Laboratory, the Fundación RIA and Histagra collaborated in conducting more than fifteen interviews with the inhabitants of Laíño (Dodro), Froxán (Lousame) and Baroña (Porto do Son) to find out what uses were made in these places, which have ceased to be carried out and what difficulties have prevented their continuity. The photograph shows the interview with Manuel Lorenzo Baleirón, geography and history teacher in Dodro and author of the book "Toponimia de Dodro e de Laíño. Os nomes na auga."
